How to use ThreadVid

Everything happens in the Studio. Here's the whole flow, start to finish.

1 · Choose Category

In Studio, pick a Category — History, Science, Space, Psychology, Business, Reddit, and more.

2 · Choose Source

The Source list updates for that category (a subreddit for Reddit, or a topic like "Ancient Rome" for the others).

3 · Generate script

Or open a Trending Opportunity — an AI-researched, scored topic — and generate a clean, content-only script (hook, body, payoff, CTA).

4 · Generate assets

Footage-based categories render in the cloud over background video. Everything else is broken into scenes with cinematic image prompts.

5 · Render video

Every video renders on our GPU render engine — nothing heavy runs on your device and there's nothing to install. Watch progress live in the Library.

6 · Export package

Open the video in your Library and hit 📦 Export. You get a .zip with the video, a thumbnail, captions.srt, and a ready-to-paste description for each platform.

📤
You publish it yourself. ThreadVid never posts on your behalf and never asks for social logins — download the export package and upload it to YouTube, TikTok or Instagram manually. Full control, no risk to your accounts.

Your projects — nothing is ever lost

Every video you make is saved as a project — a workspace you can reopen any time, not a throwaway render. The Projects tab is the shelf of all of them.

Versions, not overwrites

Every change is saved as a new version (v1, v2, v3…) stacked on top of the old one. The previous version is never deleted, so you can't lose good work by trying to improve it.

Improve

The AI Producer looks at the project and rewrites only the weak parts (a flat hook, a thin script), then saves the result as a new version. If nothing's weak, it changes nothing.

Compare

Tick any two versions to see exactly what changed between them — for example what v3 rewrote versus v2.

Restore

Roll any older version back to current. Even restoring is saved as a new version, so nothing is thrown away.

The workflow bar

At the top of every project is a row of stages: Opportunity → Research → Script → Storyboard → Thumbnail → Render → Analyze. Each one turns green with a ✓ once that part of the project is filled in. Until then it shows a small number — that's just the stage's place in the flow, not a score. Stages complete as you go, so it's completely normal for some to still show a number while others are already done.

🖼️
About thumbnails. Each project gets an AI hero-shot thumbnail — a bold frame in the project's own visual style with the headline laid over it, generated on our GPU engine like the scene images. Open the storyboard's Thumbnail tab to regenerate it, or swap in your own.
